Dr. James Fleming renders his expertise and his 27 years experience in higher education both as an educator in classrooms and as a consultant to corporations and other institutions of higher education.

Jim is a psychologist and a statistician by profession. His focus of interests include, “The Self-Concept”, “Children’s Intrinsic Motivation”, “Personality Development and Assessment Research”, Measurement and Quantitative Methods in Social Research”. Jim has written numerous journals and published several papers and books in the subject of Psychological Measurement, Evaluation, and Quantitative Methods.

Jim’s most recently completed project is the development of Pay for Performance Program at Metropolitan State College of Denver, where he contributed significantly in the area of statistical analysis.

Jim has written several computer programs used for statistical measurements which include: TETCORR for computing a matrix of tetrachoric correlations, with missing data handling and matrix smoothing, SIMLOA for computing measures of fit for loadings in factor analytically derived scales, FACTREL, a general program for relating factors between studies via the Kaiser-Hunka-Bianchini method. In addition to consulting with UM Global HR, Jim also serves as an adjunct professor for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he teaches Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Psychology of Relationships, and Personality of Development.

Other professional experiences were gained from Yavapai College, Northern Arizona University, Yavapai; California State University, Northridge (CSUN); and San Francisco State University (SFSU where he taught educational statistics and psychology courses).

Dr. James Fleming obtained his Doctorate Degree in Educational Measurement and Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley, his Masters degree in Experimental Psychology from California State University, Northridge, and his BA in Psychology from California State University in Northridge. He published 20 peer-reviewed publications pertaining to self-concept and its measurement, children’s intrinsic motivation, human memory, factor analysis methodology, transgender issues, and psychological adjustment.
