Mr. Pradip Mehta renders his expertise in Quality Assurance and his 32 years professional experience as a Fellow of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), an author, a teacher, and as an executive with diverse quality assurance and management experience.
Pradip is a member of several professional associations including: The Professional Engineer (P.E.);, Chartered Textile Technologist (U. K.);, RAB and IQA. Pradip is a (IRCA) certified ISO 9000 Lead Auditor/Assessor, an ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) and Certified SA 8000 auditor.
Pradip's previous experiences include a Director of Diversity position for the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). His charter was to enable AAFES to leverage diversity of its employees, customers, and suppliers for competitive advantage.
Pradip also served as Director of Quality Assurance between Oct. ’98 – Sept. ‘00 for the AAFES. In this capacity he directed activities to assure product quality and safety of consumer goods sold in our stores and that the goods are not made in sweatshops.
He assisted senior management in formulating corporate quality policy.
Pradip held a variety of progressively responsible positions in QA,
such as, Chief, Quality Audit, Testing & Analysis Branch; Chief, Quality Audit & Inspection Branch; Supervisory QA Specialist, Testing & Analysis Branch; Programs & Support Officer; Chief, QA Field Office – Pacific, based in Japan; Quality Assurance Specialist – Clothing & Footwear; and Quality Engineer.
Some of his most notable accomplishments include:
• Organizing and leading a “Think Tank” team of 22 AAFES associates with a Charter “To come up with actionable ideas that will prepare AAFES to face future challenges effectively” and “To act as the COO’s resource for future planning other than her direct staff.”
• Development of AAFES Standards of Social Responsibility and put a program in place to monitor AAFES suppliers for compliance with AAFES Standards of Social Responsibility.
• Development and implementation of a Supplier Quality Assistance Program, which has helped improve quality of merchandise such as clothing, jewelry, footwear, ready to assemble furniture, small appliances, sporting goods, home electronics, luggage, etc., to a point where we he reduced a reduction of staff in the Quality Assurance staff bydepartment by 50 % in last six years were made possible. This meant an at an annual savings of $ 1.6 million.
Mr. Pradip Mehta obtained his MBA – in Business Management from the University of Dallas, his MSc Degree in Textile Engineering from Lowell Tech. (now University of Massachusetts @ Lowell), and his BSc Degress in Textile Engineering from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Baroda, India.
